LOOK AT ME

These portraits were taken during missions carried out for the Association for Disabled Adults and Youth of the Yvelines department (APAJH-78, France), which had asked me to renew its photo library. Daniel, Imène, Kevin, Isham, Hassen, Thomas, Catherine and the others live in special-needs institutions. They knew me and understood who I was and what I did. Society is afraid of certain complex disabilities like mental illness. Our society’s perception about mental illness and disability must constantly evolve so we may challenge our preconceived notions and find new ways to live together.
